Thanks for posting these Dale! They look super - I'm glad to have a high-res image of the joysticks (even though it means I have to remake mine!).
Any possibility of getting some shots of the front of the pod? It'd be great to see the closeups when HAL is about to off Frank. Paul |

I added about 250 more 1080 x 1200 resolution frame grabs here. They cover the Weapons Platforms to the Intermission parts of the film. I'll add more from the beginning and end later. It's just amazing the level of detail. When you scrutinize the images, there's stick-on text everywhere. Cheers, Dale |

I uploaded a 574 more captures here. Most are of the
Space Station interior, at the request of someone doing 3D modeling of the interior who needed to decipher the signage and other details... I did a
frame-by-frame of two scenes. I also uploaded several images of the Discovery propulsion module, per request.

Dear AE-36-- love the handle!
First, thanks a heckuva lot for extracting and uploading all those neat high-res images-- that Blu-Ray can't be beat! I just found image software (PhotoAcute) that will take similar images (a sequence) and turn them into one ultra-high resolution image. This seems perfect for finding out the "last frontier" of 2001-- which (for me) is all that durned little, tiny lettering all over the pod(s). If you were interested, you might upload sequences of the pod(s) sides and such and let's see what the software will do! I, of course, will share. Mr. 2001 Spacesuit has claimed that you can read the lettering off of a projection print-- so it should be doable. Thanks in advance (either way), Eliot |
